This is a retro mid-century braided Japanese akoya saltwater cultured pearl tie tac.

The pearl is 6.75mm round. It has fantastic luster with bright rosy overtones. The setting is a double braided pattern that is simple but elegant.

The setting and stem is made of solid sterling silver and is stamped "SILVER" which is an older mark for sterling. The back of the tie tac and button bar is base metal as is common. Japan 1950-1960's.

All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned.
